I like to begin the year with a series of preinstructional drawings. One of these involves drawing from a small still-life and then drawing from a similar photograph for comparison.
Each year, I attempt to round up another still life object or two for my collection. This year I bought a deck of cards at the dollar store and created a few “house of cards” structures. I found clear hot glue worked great to permanently assembly these.
